Trekking tips

1.       Footwear with good grip and of right size should be worn, never too lose or tight.
2.       Toe nails should be cut short as they are prone to breakage on hitting a stone or similar object.
3.       Wear comfortable clothing. Full body covering is advisable.
4.       Avoid bright colored clothes especially white and red as they are provocative to the animals.
5.       Strictly NO perfumes, deodorants or other sprays as these artificial odors will alert the animals of external presence.
6.       Smoking should be strictly avoided while trekking as this reduces your lung capacity.
7.       Alcohol should be avoided as this leaves you dehydrated.
8.       Always walk in short steps.
9.       Be eco friendly; never throw plastic bags in forest as choking kills animals
10.   Finally, be aware that you are an intruder in the forest area and to the inhabitants. Respect their privacy and land!!!
11.   Leave no trace, except your foot prints in nature.

12.   Official Documents
Foreign visitors to India must possess valid passports and visas. Be sure your ‘tourist visa’ covers the duration of your visit. It is mandatory to carry your passport with you at all times while in India.  Special permits are not required for trekking in the south India, with the exception of certain restricted areas. Should you chose one of our treks or safaris in these areas; we will send you the necessary application forms and obtain these permits for you. Permission takes at least 4 weeks, so please return the forms, photocopies of the relevant pages of your passport and photographs well in advance. Although customs officials rarely check tourist baggage, it is best to declare any special equipment such as expensive cameras, tape-recorders, computers, etc. because this can save many problems on departure.

13.  Insurance
Please insure yourself against sickness, accident, helicopter evacuation, hospitalization and the like, before embarking on a wilderness vacation. Coverage should include air flights, including charters
